Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a popular and non-invasive way to improve the aesthetics of a person’s smile.

What is Teeth Whitening?

Teeth whitening, also known as tooth bleaching, is a cosmetic dental procedure designed to lighten the color of teeth and remove stains or discoloration to enhance the overall appearance of the teeth. The main ingredients used in tooth whitening products are the chemicals hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. These bleaches break stains into smaller pieces, which makes the color less concentrated and your teeth brighter. Teeth whitening is not permanent, but it can last from a few months to up to 3 years, varying from person to person. The whitening will not last as long if you smoke or drink red wine, tea or coffee regularly which can all stain your teeth. Teeth whitening does not work on dentures, crowns, fillings or veneers.

In Office Teeth Whitening

In our dental office, we offer chairside effective whitening done by our dental specialists using the flash WHITENING system. This system uses high-performance LED technology which is gentle to the teeth with low sensitivity rates and excellent results in 3-4 x 15-minute sessions in just one dental visit. The treatment can be intensified and maintained by use of the take home whitening system using customized trays as well as daily whitening toothpaste use.

Take Home Whitening System

Custom-fitted trays are fabricated by the laboratory, and a lower concentration bleaching gel is provided. Patients wear the trays filled with the gel for a specified period each day. Results are typically visible in a few days to a few weeks.
