Digital Radiography

Digital radiography is an advanced form of x-ray inspection essential for the correct diagnosis of cavities, fractures, periapical and periodontal injuries, and others.
Digital radiographs use electronic sensors (digital detectors) instead of traditional film to capture X-ray images. These sensors convert X-ray energy into digital signals that can be processed and displayed instantly on a computer monitor. Digital radiography generally requires lower radiation doses compared to traditional film-based radiography, contributing to enhanced patient safety. Digital images are stored electronically and can be easily retrieved for future reference or comparison. They can also be manipulated and enhanced to improve visibility of specific structures.

Aside from 3D CBCT imaging, our dental clinic is equipped with a Panoramic X-ray machine, used to capture a wide and detailed view of the entire oral and maxillofacial region. Unlike intraoral X-rays that focus on individual teeth, panoramic X-rays provide a broad perspective, offering a comprehensive look at the teeth, jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), sinuses, and other surrounding structures.
