Dr Andreas Onisiforou

Dr. Andreas Onisiforou is an American-trained Prosthodontist who earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary, in 2022.

That same year, after completing his dental degree, he was admitted into the highly competitive, three-year Master of Science (MS) program specializing in Advanced Prosthodontics at the esteemed University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, USA — ranked as the #1 dental school globally — which has trained many of the most prominent and respected professionals in the field.

During his full-time residency from 2022 to 2025, Dr. Onisiforou developed advanced clinical expertise in complex full-mouth rehabilitation cases, with a focus on fixed and removable prosthodontics, occlusion, aesthetic dentistry, and full-mouth surgical implantology.

His academic excellence was recognized through prestigious awards such as the Edward J. Billy Graduate Scholarship Award for Excellence in Prosthodontics (2023-2024), and the Dr. Richard H. Kingery Scholarship Award for Excellence in Prosthodontics (2024-2025).

He has actively contributed to the global dental community by attending and presenting multiple research and clinical posters at several international conferences and meetings of prestigious associations such as the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics (AAFP), the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO), the Academy of Osseointegration (AO) and the International Team of Implantology (ITI) from 2022-2025.

As part of his master’s degree program, Dr. Onisiforou conducted research on and successfully defended his Master Thesis titled “Repairability of a 3D printed resin: Effects of Surface Treatment and the Type of Repair Resin on the Shear Bond Strength”. His thesis abstract was selected for full funding by the ACP Education Foundation (ACPEF) in 2023. Upon completion of the research and successful thesis defense, the project was later selected as one of six nationwide finalists for the prestigious John J. Sharry Research Competition at the 2025 ACP Annual Conference.

After completing his specialty training, Dr. Onisiforou was appointed Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics at the University of Michigan, where he taught and mentored undergraduate dental students. He later returned to Cyprus to join the ‘Art of Advanced Dentistry’ private clinic as a Specialist Prosthodontist.

Dr. Onisiforou is passionately committed to delivering exceptional, high-quality, patient-centered care to his patients, specializing in complex oral rehabilitation in both fixed and removable Prosthodontics, cosmetic/aesthetic dentistry, surgical placement and restoration of single, full arch and full mouth dental implants, using the latest digital dental technologies. His technical expertise and personal dedication ensure that his patients receive the highest standard of dental care available on the island.

He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics (AAFP), the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO), the Academy of Osseointegration (AO) and the International Team of Implantology (ITI), the European Prosthodontic Association (EPA) and Cyprus Dental Association.

He successfully passed the American Board of Dental Examiners (ADEX) Dental Licensing Examination and is licensed to practice in the United States (State of Michigan), Cyprus, and select parts of Europe.
